Cygnus Marine, Britain’s original and favourite GRP fishing and workboat builders, first introduced the GM21 design in 1977, and since that date the CYGNUS GM21 has become the accepted standard for inshore fishing vessels.

All vessels will be built to newly approved MCA scantlings and drawings and conform to the MCA's Build Standards.

Can come with SCMS / MCA Build Certificate awarded to the vessel.
Options for other GRP mouldings are available for new build commissions or for your existing GM21s.

The well known mould for the GM21 has underwent a change of ownership in 2021. We are continuing to produce this sturdy workboat capable of launching from shallow waters and featuring an upright stem, fine entry, long keel and low bilges making for an efficient sea kindly, stable and seaworthy vessel of exceptional quality with an easily driven hull suitable of single handed working.

The GM21 has been used as crabbers, netters and purse seine skiffs and many other diverse workboat and commercial operations such as harbour patrol vessels, ferries, dive boats, safety support, sailing club launches, river taxis, as well as pleasure vessels and river launches.

All our builds are built to current MCA standards and can come with SCMS / MCA build certificates.

We can offer GRP stage 1 boats, with your gel coat colour of choice, flanged top rail, moulded GRP longitudinal girder structure incorporating engine bed reinforcements and tapping plates, laminated transverse hull frames and deck shelf, forwards bulkhead.
With either a moulded GRP or crafted hardwood gunwales. Partly fitted out, or fully finished.
We can also supply full built boats, including options for foredecks, cuddy's, wheelhouses, engine boxes, bench seats and consoles as well as the supply and installation of engines, fuel systems, stern gear, hydraulics, electronics and control systems. Thereby tailoring a boat to your exact requirements.
