Additional Information:

Romany boats were British designed and built, circa 1968 – 1979, by Gordon Payne, Poole, Dorset. Often referred to as the boat with a rope, they were very solidly built out of GRP, often termed the boat that thinks it’s a tug, a testament to this is their longevity as they are still widely in use throughout the world some 45+ years later. The majority were built as the sturdy 21 foot displacement fishing type boats, however, Gwylan Llyn is the Deep Vee Outdrive (DVO) 21 foot version with a "Fast Fisher" semi-planning hull.
She was bought as project boat, although structurally very sound throughout, she was neglected and “scruffy” with her engine and sterndrive needing an overhaul. She has, therefore, undergone a very thorough strip down and re-fit. As with most boats, there has been an almost continuous program of improvements and tinkering since. Seriously interested buyers can e-mail a request for details of the extensive renovation work, plus a copy of the full survey (YDSA) for the value of the basic vessel for insurance in 2021*.
She is fitted with a bomb proof and very economical Perkins Sabre M92 (92 Hp) marine diesel coupled to a Volvo Penta 290 SP aquadrive fitted with a 16 x 17 inch propeller for good economy and torque. (Engine has had a major service in March 2024)
Simple reason for sale is that my very numerous other hobbies get in the way and she thoroughly deserves to be used more often. For the 2021 survey*, her basic hull and machinery was valued at some £11,000 – thus that is the guide sale price but negotiable. Also, she can be sold as two sale options:
1. The basic boat and fixed fittings, engine, outdrive and MMSI registered VHF/GPS & an excellent GARMIN ECHOmap 50DV fishfinder/GPS charts, or:
2. Negotiable extras of: A full package of the vessel, a 6 person SEAGO life-raft in S/S cradle ( 1 service and under warranty); an auxiliary engine - 6 Hp long shaft 4 stoke Yamaha, never used and with only service and testing run minutes; an Otter 8 dinghy/tender with oars and retractable launching wheels, also a possible transfer of a (trot) fore and aft mooring at Pwllheli Harbour/Marina – for which there is currently a waiting list.
PLEASE: if the advert is still up – it is still for sale, also, she has had many, many £1,000s spent on her complete renovation; so no chancers, dreamers, hull tappers or joy riders.

DO NOT SEND MONEY TO SELLERS YOU CANNOT VERIFY AS GENUINE.

If possible, travel to view the boat or equipment yourself and only buy once you are happy with it.
