I bought this RIB in 2015.
The engine is a 1990 model so I'm assuming that the hull is the same age.

She was fitted with new tubes (by Tornado) the year before I bought her.
The previous owner kept her in a shed. Since I've had her she has been stored under a full cover, or latterly in a barn, so the tubes are in perfect condition (no sun-damage, no leaks no patches). The tubes have pressure relief valves so there is no stressing of the seams in hot weather.

The hull is solid. I opened the drain at the stern after bringing her out of the water the other day and no water came out. I have always used her off the trailer so her bottom is clean.

The engine starts and runs reliably. The previous owner had it maintained professionally and I have changed the gearbox oil and fuel filters as required. The autolube is very convenient and the oil and water warning systems all work. The fuel tank is built into the console and has a capacity of at least 60 litres, which gives at least 3 hours of cruising at 25kn. Remotes all work smoothly (throttle, ahead, astern). Steering is hydraulic. Battery holds a charge all winter. Electric trim and tilt works perfectly. Top speed is over 30kn.

The console is very robust with a perspex screen to hide behind when its raining and good handholds.
Seats are in very good condition (upholstery is intact). There is a large locker with a padded seat in front of the console which is a favourite place for passengers in good weather. The bow locker is big enough for a large CQR anchor, chain/line, and fenders.

Electronics (plotter, fish-finder, VHF) are all Navman, and all work.

The anchor, fenders, mooring lines, paddles, boathook, air pump, console cover and full winter cover are all included in the sale, along with some engine bits and a spare propeller.

I have been very impressed with the performance of this RIB. The engine is very responsive, getting the boat onto the plane very quickly, and is remarkably quiet. Handling in a sea is excellent, better than some bigger RIBs that I have driven. I reckon that 5.8m is the perfect compromise between performance and ease of launching/hauling/towing.

Price for the boat without the trailer/trolley is £5,900.

The trailer is a 1600kg Lider tilt bed car transporter which I bought new in 2020.
I added an electric winch to the trailer which is powered by a 12V battery which is trickle-charged by a solar panel on the lid of the battery box. There is an external Andersen connector which can be used for charging, or for attaching jump leads to the towing vehicle in case the winch battery fails. The winch is operated by a wireless remote, which means you can be on the boat while winching in or out.

The launching trolley is my own design, made from aluminium and galvanised steel with stainless steel fastenings. The tyres are solid rubber and the hubs are polypropylene.
As shown in the photos, the road trailer is kept clear of the water when launching and hauling, avoiding all of the brake and bearing problems associated with putting a boat trailer in the water. The trolley is much lower than a boat trailer which means that the boat floats on and off in shallower water.

Gross towing weight of boat, trailer and trolley is under 1300kg.

Price for boat + trailer/trolley is £8,800.

If possible, travel to view the boat or equipment yourself and only buy once you are happy with it.
