This DS16 MK5 boat is one of the range of hulls produced by a renowned Cornish Boat Builder, to celebrate 50 years of Treeve boats built to commercial/work boat standard finish as per the pictures. She is fitted with a false keel with extra strong keel iron giving the ability of swinging a larger prop, extra depth bilge keels with strong bilge irons for taking the ground if beached and to stop leaning over to far when being winched. Along with this she is fitted with extra strong skeg and shoe to protect stern gear.

Her hull design culminates years of their experience to the commercial fishing industry and recreational groups alike which combines rugged design characteristics and beauty together, and having been constructed to Sea Fish Authority standard, this versatile boat is equally at home earning it’s keep commercially, a weekend day boat or yacht club launch due to the robust commercial standard of this Penberth hull, with ultimate seaworthiness and longevity in mind.

Whilst having been used by professional fisherman for whom it was originally developed the hull has been built to specifications that are almost double that of EEC requirements. This style of boat has a long track record of hard work and safety in the heavy seas of the South West coast as demonstrated by the amount of these boats still working out of the Pemberth Cove on the Lands End peninsula.

This Treeve DS16 is a modern development of the original and previous Mks of Cornish fishing boat way back in 1977 and although a compact 16ft in length has strength, capacity and space of larger vessels whilst maintaining its style.
